I would like to give a little update on how the service is functioning in the current climate now that schools and settings are fully open. We are following the advice on peripatetic working from the Department for Education in that the service can visit schools and settings as usual in order to provide support to our children and young people.
However, we also feel that at the present time we will limit the number of schools that our staff will visit in a working day, to minimise the risk of any transmission of the virus. All service staff will currently only visit a maximum of two schools per day. We are working with our own Risk Assessment for peripatetic working, but also following the protocols from the individual schools and settings.
Our STARS social events are being put on hold for the immediate future until we feel that we can offer them safely. I hope this finds you well in these uncertain times.
